“You Are That (Tat Tvam Asi)”
Bhagavad Gita – Day 24 Discourse 🙏

🌿 Part 1 — Krishna–Arjuna Dialogue (Overview)

🏹 Arjuna:

O Krishna! 🙏
So far, six chapters of the Bhagavad Gita are completed. Why are they divided like this?

🕉 Sri Krishna:

Partha! Listen 👇

👉 The entire Bhagavad Gita
is an explanation of the Mahavakya: Tat Tvam Asi

👉 It has three words:
✔ Tat
✔ Tvam
✔ Asi

🏹 Arjuna:
What do they mean, Krishna?

🕉 Sri Krishna:

👉 Tat = That (Paramatma)
👉 Tvam = You (Jiva)
👉 Asi = Are (Unity)

👉 Partha! You are God
👉 Not newly becoming
👉 You are already That

👉 In all three times, you are Ishwara

🏹 Arjuna:
Then why don’t I experience it?

🕉 Sri Krishna:

👉 Upanishad is not wrong
👉 Your experience is mistaken

👉 You have taken on
qualities opposite to Ishwara

👉 That covers your true nature

👉 “I am a limited being” — this is the error

👉 That alone is sorrow

👉 Ishwara is not elsewhere
👉 You yourself are Ishwara

👉 Only ignorance stands in between

👉 Like darkness hiding an object

👉 Lamp does not create the object
👉 It only reveals what is already there

👉 Similarly:
Sadhana is not gaining
It is knowing

👉 Inquiry removes ignorance
👉 Not creating reality

👉 Rope–snake example:
Snake is illusion
Rope alone is real

👉 Likewise:
Jiva is illusion
You are Ishwara

🔥 Summary – Part 1
👉 First Shatkam = Tvam explanation
👉 Jiva = Ishwara
👉 Sadhana = removal of illusion

🌿 Part 2 — Krishna–Arjuna Dialogue

🏹 Arjuna:

Krishna!
If I am not born, do not die, not doer, not enjoyer…
Then who am I?

🕉 Sri Krishna:

👉 When beginning, middle, end disappear
👉 What remains is infinite

👉 That is you

👉 Problem is not reality
👉 It is your vision

👉 Rope is seen as snake
👉 Error is in seeing

👉 Snake never existed
👉 Rope never changed

👉 Similarly:
Ignorance appears and disappears

👉 You are the witness

👉 Knowledge & ignorance come and go
👉 You do not

👉 Two types of knowledge:
✔ Changing (mental)
✔ Witness (unchanging)

👉 Your nature is ever pure

👉 Impurity never really touched you

👉 Like dream:
It appears
It disappears

👉 You don’t remove dream
👉 Waking removes it

👉 Sadhana = change of vision

👉 Same vision:
Sees world as world (ignorance)
Sees world as Brahman (knowledge)

👉 You are the witness of:
Waking
Dream
Deep sleep

👉 You are Turīya

👉 Ultimately:
No bondage
No seeker
No liberation

👉 Only Brahman

🔥 Summary – Part 2

👉 Birth, death, doership = illusion
👉 Witness alone real
👉 Dream disappears by knowledge
👉 Vision change is sadhana

🌿 Part 3 — Krishna–Arjuna Dialogue

🏹 Arjuna:

Krishna!
I see world, time, objects, actions…
Are they real?

🕉 Sri Krishna:

👉 They appear
👉 But not real

👉 Only one reality exists:
👉 All-pervading Consciousness

👉 It does not newly spread
👉 It always is

👉 You are already That

👉 But you think you are not
👉 So you appear as Jiva

👉 Consciousness = Existence + Awareness

👉 It is:
Formless
All-pervading
Unmoving

👉 Due to wrong perception:

👉 Knowledge → becomes mind
👉 Power → becomes prana

👉 Then comes fear, suffering

👉 You limited infinite to body

👉 Like pot-space and total space

👉 Body may go
👉 You remain

👉 Karma Yoga → purifies mind
👉 Samadhi → gives focus

👉 But:
They do NOT reveal Brahman

👉 Only knowledge reveals

👉 Sadhana removes obstacles

👉 Realization = recognition

👉 Entire journey is like dream

🔥 Summary – Part 3

👉 Consciousness alone real
👉 Mind & prana are distortions
👉 Karma & Samadhi = preparation
👉 Knowledge alone reveals truth

🌿 Part 4 — Krishna–Arjuna Dialogue

🏹 Arjuna:

Krishna!
People say mind must dissolve to realize Brahman. Is it true?

🕉 Sri Krishna:

👉 Big mistake 🔥

👉 If Brahman exists only after mind dissolves,
does it not exist before?

👉 Brahman is always present

👉 “Transcending” is wrong idea

👉 If you must cross something,
then before crossing Brahman is absent — wrong!

👉 Bondage, practice, liberation —
all are Brahman

👉 Mind also is Brahman

👉 Nothing to cross

👉 All stages:
Before practice
During practice
After realization
👉 All are Brahman

👉 Division is only for teaching

👉 Like scaffolding:
Used to build
Removed later

👉 Karma, Bhakti, Samadhi — helpers

👉 Final truth:
👉 Knowledge alone remains

👉 Brahman = Pure Consciousness

👉 Forms change
👉 Formless remains

👉 Wave dies
👉 Ocean does not 🌊

👉 You are the deathless

👉 Seeking fails because:
👉 Seeker = Sought

👉 When you search, it appears distant
👉 When you know, it is yourself

👉 Final teaching:

👉 What you seek is YOU

👉 Just know

🔥 Summary – Part 4

👉 No need to dissolve mind
👉 No need to transcend
👉 Everything is Brahman
👉 Knowledge alone reveals
👉 You are That

🕉 Final Mahavakya

👉 You are That
👉 Not to become
👉 Only to realize
