“True Liberation (Jivanmukti) Lies in a Still Mind”#Bhagavad Gita – Day 22 Discourse 🙏

🌿 Part 1 — Dialogue (Krishna–Arjuna)

🕉 Beginning

Krishna:
Om Namo Gurubhyaḥ 🙏
Arjuna, now I will explain an important truth.
Listen carefully — when does Yoga become successful?

🔹 Verse

Krishna:

> When the controlled mind
rests in the Self alone,
free from all desires,
then one is called a Yogi.

🔹 Meaning

Arjuna:
Lord, what does “when–then” mean here?

Krishna:
Arjuna,
“When” means — when the condition is ready
“Then” means — the result happens.

👉 In the Gita, results come only when the mind is prepared.

🔹 Mind — The Real Center

Krishna:
Everything is known only through the mind.

👉 Body exists → mind knows
👉 Senses work → mind knows
👉 Breath is happening → mind knows

👉 So who is the boss? → Mind

🔹 Deep Truth

Krishna:
Without mind, no experience exists.
👉 Mind illuminates everything.

🔹 Yogi State

👉 When mind is controlled
👉 It rests in the Self

👉 That is Yoga

🔹 Example

👉 Mind = Wind
👉 Self = Space

Wind moves → disturbance
Wind stops → only space remains

👉 Same way:
Mind stops → only Self remains

🔹 Desires End

👉 Desire = movement of mind
👉 No mind → No desire

🔹 Clarification

👉 Memory ≠ Desire

👉 “Desireless” means:
No cravings, not unconsciousness

🔹 Second Verse

> Like a lamp in a windless place
does not flicker,
so is the steady mind of a Yogi.

🔹 Practice

👉 Yoga is NOT sitting
👉 Yoga is observing the mind

🔹 Third Verse

> When the mind becomes still
through practice,
one experiences the Self
and rejoices within.

🔹 Important Point

👉 Mind won’t stop on its own
👉 It must be trained through practice

🔹 Ashtanga Yoga

Yama
Niyama
Asana
Pranayama
Pratyahara
Dharana
Dhyana
Samadhi

👉 Without these → no control of mind

🔹 Knowledge Begins

👉 Yoga → becomes Knowledge

👉 Mind sees the Self

🔹 Example

👉 Rope looks like snake (ignorance)
👉 Knowledge removes illusion

🔹 Inner Joy

👉 No need for external objects
👉 Joy comes from within

🔹 Final Verse

> Supreme happiness
is beyond senses
and known through intellect.

👉 Once attained → never lost

🌿 Summary

1. Mind is the key

2. Control mind → Yogi

3. Mind in Self → Peace

4. Desires end

5. Inner bliss arises

6. That state is permanent

🌿 Part 2 — Deeper Yoga

🔹 Mature State

👉 Mind fully controlled
👉 Self experienced
👉 Stability in joy

🔹 Brahman Bliss

👉 Beyond senses
👉 Experienced through intellect
👉 Never falls again

🔹 Supreme Gain

> Once gained, nothing else is needed

👉 Self-realization = highest gain

🔹 Why?

Worldly gains: ❌ Temporary
❌ Uncertain
❌ Can be lost

Self: ✅ Permanent
✅ Unchanging

🔹 Stability Test

👉 Even great sorrow should not shake you

🔹 Fearlessness

👉 First divine quality = Fearlessness

🔹 Definition of Yoga

👉 Separation from sorrow = Yoga

🔹 Two Conditions

1️⃣ Determination
👉 No doubt

2️⃣ No frustration
👉 Never give up

🔹 Desires

👉 Desire comes from thoughts
👉 Stop thoughts → desires end

🔹 Core Teaching

👉 Mind is the root problem

🌿 Part 3 — Mind Control to Bliss

🔹 Immediate Action

👉 No delay
👉 No doubt
👉 Act immediately

🔹 Sense Control

👉 5 senses + 5 actions

👉 All controlled by mind

🔹 Gradual Practice

👉 Slowly… step by step

🔹 Don’t Force

👉 Forced control → mind rebels

🔹 Use Intellect + Courage

👉 Clear decision
👉 Strong confidence

🔹 Where to Place Mind?

👉 In the Self

🔹 Important

👉 Once mind is stable
👉 No more thoughts

🔹 Nature of Mind

👉 Always restless

🔹 Practice

👉 Wherever mind goes
👉 Bring it back

🔹 Result

👉 Eventually mind becomes peaceful

🔹 Then

👉 You don’t go to happiness
👉 Happiness comes to you

🔹 Final State

👉 Brahman experience
👉 Pure awareness
👉 No impurity

🌿 Part 4 — Seeing Self Everywhere

🔹 Main Teaching

> See Self in all beings
and all beings in the Self

🔹 Meaning

👉 Everything is YOU

🔹 Two Directions

1️⃣ See Self in world
2️⃣ See world in Self

👉 Together = Complete realization

🔹 Two Problems

1. Distraction

2. Ignorance

🔹 Solutions

👉 See Self everywhere → no distraction
👉 See world in Self → no ignorance

🔹 Result

> One who sees Me everywhere
I never leave him
He never leaves Me

🔹 Final Vision

👉 Seer = Seen
👉 Everything becomes one

🔹 Ethical Teaching

👉 Treat others as yourself

👉 If you feel pain → others feel the same

🔹 Supreme Yogi

👉 One who sees equally
👉 In happiness and sorrow

🔹 Arjuna’s Doubt

👉 “Mind is uncontrollable”

👉 Like controlling wind

🔹 Core Problem

👉 Mind is the tool
👉 But mind is unstable

🌿 Final Summary

👉 Yoga becomes Knowledge
👉 World becomes Self
👉 Duality disappears
👉 Equality arises
👉 Dharma becomes natural
👉 Finally → Oneness with Brahman
