#Bhagavad Gita — Day 2 Lesson

🪷 Bhagavad Gita — Day 2 Lesson

🌿 What is Training? Nara — Narayana

The main theme explained by the Guru in this section
👉 Spiritual Training

🧭 What is Training?

Training means
the guidance through which a human being realizes their true nature.

👉 It is not ordinary education
👉 It is knowledge that transforms life

👤 Who should receive training?

The Guru’s clear statement 👇

👉 Nara (the human) must receive training

Here “Nara” does not mean male —
👉 It means the human who identifies with the body

That is,
one who thinks “I am the body”

🌌 Who is Narayana?

The Guru gave a profound derivation 👇

👉 Nara = the five elements
👉 Ayana = the substratum

✨ The consciousness that is the basis of the five elements
is Narayana

The source
where the universe arises
abides
and dissolves

That fundamental consciousness = Narayana

🪷 Gita verse pointing to this truth

🪷 Bhagavad Gita — Chapter 2, Verse 28

Beings are unmanifest in the beginning,
manifest in the middle,
and unmanifest again at the end.

🌿 Meaning:
All beings arise from the unmanifest
and return to it

👉 The source is one — Consciousness

🔄 Why does change occur?

Key principle explained by the Guru 👇

👉 Change = name + form + action

Because these change

👉 Birth
👉 Life
👉 Death

appear

But

✨ The witness of these changes
never changes

That is Narayana

🪷 The changeless Self

🪷 Bhagavad Gita — Chapter 2, Verse 20

The Self is never born, nor does it die.
It is eternal, unborn, and everlasting.
It is not destroyed when the body is destroyed.

👉 This is the nature of Narayana

👥 Why did Nara become “Nara”?

Because

👉 He identified with the body
👉 He identified with the mind

So

✔️ He thinks change belongs to him
✔️ He thinks death belongs to him

This is samsara

🧠 Difference between Nara and Narayana

Nara — Narayana

Limited knowledge — Complete knowledge
Limited power — Infinite power
Subject to change — Changeless
Fear — Immortality

🙏 When does training begin?

A key rule given by the Guru 👇

👉 Teaching begins only when one asks

That is why Arjuna said

🪷 Bhagavad Gita — Chapter 2, Verse 7

I am confused.
I am your disciple.
Teach me what is truly good for me.

👉 This is the real beginning of training

🎯 Goal of training

👉 From Nara → Narayana

That is

“I am not the body
I am consciousness”

🧩 Root problem

Guru’s key insight 👇

👉 You are truly Narayana
but

❗ you forgot

Because

Ignorance → desire → action → bondage

🪷 Central message

✔️ Training is Self-knowledge
✔️ Nara = limited identity
✔️ Narayana = witnessing consciousness
✔️ Change belongs to name-form-action
✔️ Bondage = identification
✔️ Freedom = recognition

🌸 Essence

👉 You are not Nara
👉 You are Narayana
👉 Training helps you realize it

🌿 Part 2 — Three Shatkās & Three Stages of Knowledge

This section explains
👉 The structural secret of the Gita
👉 How the unity of Jiva and Brahman is understood

🌳 Three Shatkās — the spiritual journey

1️⃣ First Shatka (Chapters 1–6)

👉 Inquiry into the “Tvam” (individual self)

Begins with

✔️ sorrow
✔️ ignorance
✔️ instability

Solution

👉 Sankhya vision
👉 purification of action
👉 self-discipline

This purifies the mind

🌿 Key teaching

After knowledge arises

👉 Renunciation of ego in action
👉 Purity of thought, speech, and action

Then

✨ the individual becomes purified

🌌 Second Shatka (Chapters 7–12)

👉 Teaching of the “Tat” (Brahman)

The Self is ever pure
but appears conditioned

Like

👉 coloring the sky

The sky looks blue
but has no color

Similarly

Brahman appears with names and forms
but is actually attributeless

🪷 Bhagavad Gita — Chapter 7, Verse 2

I will teach you knowledge along with realization.

🔱 Saguna & Nirguna

✔️ Saguna — for devotion
✔️ Nirguna — the real nature

First worship form
then realize the formless

🔥 Third Shatka (Chapters 13–18)

👉 “Asi” — the unity

Jiva = Ishvara

🪷 Chapter 13, Verse 2

The knower of the field in all bodies is Me

🧠 Three levels of knowledge

1️⃣ Padartha Jnana — analysis

Understanding Tvam and Tat separately

2️⃣ Vakyartha Jnana — synthesis

Tat Tvam Asi

3️⃣ Avakyartha Jnana — direct realization

Beyond words

🪷 Knowledge & Realization

🪷 Chapter 9, Verse 1

I teach knowledge with realization leading to liberation

Knowledge = theory
Realization = experience

🔐 Secret of the Gita

Truth is hidden
within the heart

🌌 Supreme secret

Practice is not gaining something new
but recognizing what already is

👁 Direct truth

🪷 Chapter 9, Verse 2

This knowledge is directly realizable and easy

🌟 Core message

✔️ Purify the individual
✔️ Understand Brahman
✔️ Realize unity

🌸 Essence

👉 Know Tvam
👉 Know Tat
👉 Realize Asi

🪷 Bhagavad Gita — Day 2

🌿 Part 3 — Transcending the Body & Arjuna’s Sorrow

Main theme 👇

👉 Why humans suffer
👉 How sorrow ends
👉 Why Self-knowledge is necessary

🌌 The sky analogy

The Self is like space

✔️ all-pervading
✔️ unattached
✔️ present everywhere

🪷 Chapter 9, Verse 2

This knowledge is supreme, pure, and directly realizable

🧠 Our obstacle

Truth is present
but

👉 the mind blocks it

Like a student blocking light with his own head

🌱 Spiritual maturity

Liberation happens naturally
like a ripe fruit falling

🌊 Human condition

Humans are immersed in the ocean of sorrow

Only Self-knowledge lifts them

🪷 Chapter 2, Verse 11

The wise do not grieve for the living or the dead

😢 Human paradox

We fear death constantly

🧬 Two identities

1️⃣ Body-identity
2️⃣ Soul-identity

Arjuna stands in the second

🌸 Essence

👉 Sorrow comes from identification
👉 Self-knowledge ends sorrow

🪷 Bhagavad Gita — Day 2

🌿 Part 4 — From Body Identity to the Witness Self

Core teaching 👇

👉 Not the body
👉 Not the individual
👉 You are awareness

🧠 Three levels

Body identity
Individual identity
Witness awareness

🪷 Chapter 2, Verse 12

Never was I not, nor you, nor these kings;
nor shall we cease to be

🌌 Deeper meaning

No birth
No death
One consciousness

Time does not apply

🪞 Avatar vs birth

The wise see body as instrument
Ignorant see body as self

🏺 Pot-space analogy

Body breaks
Self remains

🧘 Key instruction

Abide as the witnessing Self

Then

✔️ no fear
✔️ no sorrow

🌟 Who is a wise person

One who sees everything as the Self

🌸 Final essence

The body changes
experiences change
consciousness does not

Realizing this is liberation
