**🌿 “The Room, the Window, and the Witness
**🌿 “The Room, the Window, and the Witness”
A Story of Pure Awareness in Advaita Vedanta (English Version)
Imagine a quiet room, my dear.
Inside that room, you are sitting peacefully.
The room has only one window.
When you look through that window,
you see a huge world outside—
cars moving, people walking, trees swaying,
sunlight, clouds, noise, silence…
But here is the hidden secret:
Are you truly seeing the outer world?
Or are you only seeing what the window allows you to see?
You are seated inside the room — unmoving, unchanged, untouched.
Only the window-frame changes what appears to you.
If the window is small, the world appears small.
If it is dusty, the world seems unclear.
If it is colored, the world looks tinted.
But you, the one inside the room, remain unaffected.
🌸 The Room = Your Pure Self (Atman)
You — the one seated inside — are silent, steady, formless.
No movement touches you.
No disturbance reaches you.
This is the state of Atman —
the changeless witness of all experiences.
🌼 The Window = The Body and the Senses
Your body is the window.
Your eyes, ears, mind, and thoughts are the windowpanes.
If the body is weak, the world looks dull.
If the mind is disturbed, the world looks chaotic.
If emotion clouds you, the world appears heavy.
If intellect is sharp, the world appears bright.
But none of this touches the one who is watching.
Just like dust on the window
does not enter the room,
the joys and sorrows of life
cannot touch the real “you.”
They touch only the window —
the body-mind.
Not the witness.
🌿 The Outside World = Life’s Changing Experiences
The scenery outside keeps changing.
Cars come and go.
People appear and disappear.
Clouds drift.
Rain comes and goes.
Similarly, in life:
Joy comes, joy goes.
Pain comes, pain goes.
Success and failure come and go.
Birth and death appear and disappear.
Yet you, the witness inside,
remain untouched.
You are not the movement.
You are the witness of movement.
🌟 The Secret of the Witness (Sakshi)
If you think you are the window,
every storm outside will frighten you.
But when you know
you are the one sitting inside,
everything changes.
Rain falls on the window — not on you.
Storm shakes the window — not you.
Dust sticks to the window — not to you.
Life’s troubles hit the mind — not the Self.
This is the core teaching of Advaita:
“You are not the body.
You are not the mind.
You are not the world seen through them.
You are the witness.”
🌺 The Essence of the Teaching
Room → Pure Consciousness (Atman)
Window → Body + Senses + Mind
Outside → The Changing World
You inside → The Witness (Sakshi)
The world appears through the window,
but the room never goes outside.
Likewise —
the world appears in your awareness,
but your real Self never enters the world of change.
It only witnesses.
🌟 Final Message
As long as you identify with the window (the body),
life looks fearful, confusing, painful.
When you recognize
that you are the silent presence inside —
the witness —
the entire world becomes a passing movie
while you remain the unchanging screen.
