Mandukya Upanishad-Everything Is One Self”

✨ 1. Is the world truly real? The Mystery of Illusion

The Upanishads begin with a striking question:

“Is what you see truly real?
Or is it like mistaking a rope for a snake in darkness?”

As long as ignorance remains:

the body feels real,

emotions feel real,

birth and death appear real,

pleasure and pain seem unavoidable.

But the moment knowledge dawns…
just as the snake disappears when light comes,
the entire world dissolves into the Self.

✨ 2. Jiva and Jagat — two pieces or one reality?

Our masters say:

“In deep sleep there is only One.
On waking, that One appears as two —
the Jiva and the Jagat.”

The power that creates this seeming division is Maya.

But remember —
neither the Jiva nor the Jagat is truly separate.
They are the two reflections of the same Consciousness.

✨ 3. The Five Sheaths: The Descent and Ascent

The Taittiriya Upanishad gives a detailed map:

Paramatma descends into the human form through five layers:

1. Annamaya Kosha – the physical body

2. Pranamaya Kosha – the vital force

3. Manomaya Kosha – the mind

4. Vijnanamaya Kosha – the intellect

5. Anandamaya Kosha – the causal bliss layer

Our spiritual journey is the reverse:

We must ascend,
crossing each sheath one by one,
until nothing remains except pure Consciousness.

This is the method to realise the Self at the core.

✨ 4. The Mandukya Map – The Four States

According to the Mandukya Upanishad:

1. Waking – you see the outer world

2. Dream – you see the inner world

3. Deep Sleep – nothing is seen

4. Turiya – the background Awareness that sees all states

This Turiya is not a fourth state
but the Reality that runs through all three.

It is:

Peace,

Silence,

Non-duality,

Pure Seeing.

When the seer alone remains and the seen disappears, that is Turiya.

✨ 5. Sat + Chit → Ananda

The Upanishads explain:

In the world, Sat (existence) is dominant.

In the individual, Chit (awareness) is dominant.

When these two are recognised as one —
the natural result is Ananda,
the bliss of one’s own Being.

This is not pleasure.
This is not emotion.
This is the joy of knowing who you truly are.

✨ 6. The Single Message: Everything is One Self

The essence of all four teachings is incredibly simple:

“What appears as Jiva,
what appears as Jagat —
is only the One Self wearing different masks.”

When this is understood deeply, fear ends,
bondage ends,
and even death loses its meaning.

Only One remains —
the eternal Witness.

✨ 7. Conclusion – Salutations to the Inner Light

The Upanishads finally bring you to a single recognition:

The Paramatma you seek has already entered your very being.
You are not reaching Him —
you are remembering Him.
You are Him.

Not two.
Not even one becoming two.

Just One Self, appearing as many.
