When Emptiness Merges with Emptiness🕊️
When Emptiness Merges with Emptiness
🕊️
All concepts — karma, meditation, movement, stillness, and knowledge — converge at a single point of Truth. They are not five different experiences but five expressions of one awareness seen in different motions of the mind.
🔹 Karma means Movement
Karma is not merely a physical action; it is the movement within awareness.
The mind moves the moment it recognizes something as “this” or “that.”
Example:
When you say, “This is a mic,” your awareness moves toward that object.
Thus, mind = motion of perception.
🔹 “When You Grasp the Unmoving, the Mind Becomes Still”
This is the heart of Vedanta.
Everything with form moves — the mic, the chair, the body, the thought.
But space (ākāśa) — formless, vast, motionless — never moves.
When your attention rests in that, the mind too becomes still.
🕉️
> “Movement is karma; stillness is jñāna.”
🔹 What is Meditation?
When awareness moves — it is meditation.
When awareness does not move — it is knowledge.
Meditation is within motion;
Knowledge is before motion begins.
🔹 Space — The Witness
Space is everywhere, unchanging and still.
Yet within it, all movement appears.
This is the mystery of appearance (ābhāsa) —
Movement seen in the unmoving,
but the unmoving never moves.
🪞
> The moving is seen in the still;
the still itself never moves.
That perception is the eye of Self-knowledge.
🔹 Karma, Meditation, and Knowledge — Three Phases of One Truth
1. Karma — The state of motion (mind moving).
2. Meditation — Watching that motion.
3. Knowledge — Motion ceases completely.
🕊️
> Movement is birth, movement is life, movement is death.
When movement ends — there is no birth or death.
That stillness is liberation (jīvanmukti).
🔹 The World as a Dream
To the awakened one, the world appears like a dream.
Just as running in a dream is not true action,
so also all worldly actions are apparent actions (ābhāsa) only.
> “He who sees inaction in action...” — Bhagavad Gita.
Though actions appear to occur, in reality, only awareness acts — and awareness is still.
🔹 The Secret of the Liberated Being
The enlightened one may talk, walk, work — yet within, nothing moves.
To others, it looks like action;
to him, it is pure stillness.
💬
> To your eyes, he moves;
to his eyes, he never does.
That is why even while speaking, Ramana Maharshi remained in samādhi.
🔹 Philosophical Summary
> “Names and forms are dream-like; Being-Consciousness (Sat–Chit) alone is real.”
“Movement is karma; stillness is knowledge.”
“Even in apparent motion, there is only unmoving awareness.”
“All actions dissolve in knowledge — sarvaṁ karmākhilaṁ pārtha jñāne parisamāpyate.”
🕉️ Poetic Essence
Movement is karma, stillness is Brahman,
Mind creates, Self witnesses.
Space — the mirror of the infinite within,
That alone is Knowledge, the Advaitic Truth.
✨ Meaning of the Title — "When Emptiness Merges with Emptiness":
When the outer space (ākāśa) and the inner space (chit-ākāśa) unite,
movement dissolves into stillness,
form into formlessness,
the seer into the seen —
and what remains is Pure Awareness,
beyond karma, meditation, or knowledge —
just Being.
